McDonald’s has broken ground on a new location in Woodforest, according to a Feb. 20 news release.

“We are thrilled to have iconic McDonald’s as the first fast-food restaurant to be established in Woodforest,” said Virgil Yoakum, senior vice president and general manager of Woodforest, via news release. “Their presence in Woodforest furthers our goal to be a regional destination, with our community not only serving our 13,000-plus residents but the overall area.”

McDonald’s is a fast-food franchise known for burgers, chicken nuggets and fries.

“As a resident of Woodforest since its opening, I’m honored to open the first quick-service restaurant in the area,” McDonald’s Houston owner and operator Steve McKinney said via news release. “I look forward to opening our doors to the community later this year.”
