As part of the a $1.9B bond package in 2023 as well as the $653.57 million 2019 bond package, Conroe ISD is building three new elementary schools, one high school campus and making major renovations to five different campuses. These projects will be completed by 2027, CISD officials said.

1. Janet K. Bartlett Elementary School

Project: The new school, funded by the 2019 bond package, will serve up to 950 students in pre-K through fourth grades in the Caney Creek and Conroe high school feeder zones.

Update: Construction is complete and the school is on track to welcome its first students in August, Easy Foster, director of planning and construction at Conroe ISD, said July 16.

Location: 11225 Cielo Drive, Conroe


Timeline: 2019-August

2. Rob Eissler Elementary School

Project: The new elementary school, funded by the 2023 bond, will have a 950-student capacity and serve the The Woodlands High School feeder zone.

Update: Construction is on schedule and retention ponds have been built to control water on-site, district officials said July 16.

Timeline: March 2024-August 2025

3. Mittie J. Campbell Elementary School

Project: The new elementary school will have a 950-student capacity in the Oak Ridge and Caney Creek high school feeder zones.


Update: Construction is ahead of schedule with driveways laid as of mid-July, district officials said July 16.

Location: 15895 Stonecrest Drive, Conroe

Timeline: March 2024-August 2025

4. Grand Oaks campus


Project: The new school will serve seventh, eighth and ninth grades in the Grand Oaks High School feeder zone.

Update: The crew is halfway through building pad construction and building new roads into the school, district officials said July 16.

Timeline: March 2024-January 2027


5. David Elementary School

Project: The school is performing roof, heating, ventilation and air conditioning renovations.

Update: The project is delayed by Hurricane Beryl.

Location: 5301 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands

Timeline: Completion before the start of the 2024-25 school year

6. Lamar Elementary School

Project: The school is performing kitchen, roof, heating, ventilation and air conditioning renovations.

Update: This project is delayed by Hurricane Beryl, but it will not affect the district’s ability to serve students food on the first day of school, district officials said July 16.

Location: 1300 Many Pines Road, The Woodlands

Timeline: Completion before the start of the 2024-25 school year

7. Houser Elementary School

Project: The school is performing fire sprinkler, heating, ventilation and air conditioning renovations.

Update: The project is delayed due to Hurricane Beryl, district officials said July 16.

Location: 27370 Oak Ridge School Road, Conroe

Timeline: Completion before the start of the 2024-25 school year

8. Rice Elementary School

Project: The school is receiving heating, ventilation and air conditioning renovations.

Update: The project is delayed due to Hurricane Beryl, district officials said July 16.

Location: 904 Gladstell St., Conroe

Timeline: Completion before the start of the 2024-25 school year

9. Conroe High School

Project: The school is making improvements to its campus to accommodate student growth.

Update: The project is currently in the fine arts and dining phase of renovation.

Location: 3200 W. Davis St., Conroe

Timeline: Completion in December 2025
