“We are excited to get this off the ground and see our vision start taking shape,” said Keith Luechtefeld, Houston division president for Shea Homes, in the release.
The groundbreaking kicks off the first phase of 247 homesites spanning from 40- to 70-foot-wide lots, according to the release.
In addition to home sites, Evergreen is expected to include about 100 acres for parks, green space and amenities, such as a creek with amenities across the property, a modern recreation center and trails. The community will be Shea Homes' largest Houston-area residential development, according to the release.
“We want to develop a community that works with the land, preserving as much of Evergreen’s natural features as possible, giving people ample opportunities to enjoy their neighbors and the outdoors,” Luechtefeld said in the release. “This area is booming, and there is great synergy here.”
The community is zoned to Conroe ISD schools.
