Montgomery County ranks No. 9 out of the fastest-growing counties in the state of Texas, according to newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The county’s population grew 3% from July 1, 2018, to July 1, 2019—increasing from 589,770 to 607,391according to estimates released March 26.

For both years, Montgomery County ranked No. 11 in terms of population size.

From April 1, 2010 to July 1, 2019, the population grew by 151,644, with the majority of that growth coming from migration. In that time frame, 118,687 individuals moved into the county, and 63,930 were born in the county, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. 32,210 deaths were reported in that time frame.

From July 1, 2018, to July 1, 2019, 14,365 individuals moved into Montgomery County, and 7,387 were born. The census estimates 4,165 deaths in that time.
