Montgomery County's total COVID-19 cases increased by 64 from Aug. 31-Sept. 1, reaching 8,800, according to the county's public health department. Active cases decreased by 208 to 1,190.
On Tuesdays, the department factors in additional cases they have not been able to contact for more than 30 days, and 178 inactive cases added Sept. 1.
Meanwhile, 28 residents are known to be in the hospital as a result of contact investigations, and 6,087 people have reportedly recovered, an increase of 94 since Aug. 31. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all cases.
