Montgomery County confirms one additional death related to COVID-19 Aug. 14; active cases increase slightly

Following more than two weeks of decreasing active coronavirus cases, Montgomery County reported an increase of nine active cases from Aug. 13 to Aug. 14, according to the Montgomery County Public Health District. Total active cases in the county now total 1,243.

The county also confirmed an additional death related to coronavirus: A woman in her 90s with comborbidities, or the presence of two or more chronic diseases, who died in hospice care. This brings the death total to 96.


There are 6,957 total cases, an increase of 93 since Aug. 13. Meanwhile, 56 residents are known to be in the hospital as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases. Meanwhile, 5,009 people have clinically recovered.
