Montgomery County reported four additional deaths related to COVID-19 on Aug. 11, bringing the total deaths to 94, according to a daily case count by the Montgomery County Public Health District. All four were men between the ages 50-90, and all had comorbidities, or the presence of two or more chronic illnesses.

On Aug. 11, MCPHD announced that on Tuesdays, it will factor in additional cases the county has not been able to contact for more than 30 days, which totals 437 additional "inactive" cases as of Aug. 11. Community Impact Newspaper has added this category to the chart below.

Under this new reporting method, active cases decreased by 445 since Aug. 10 to 1,355, the lowest total since July 14.

Of the active cases, 47 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

Meanwhile, 4,718 people have reportedly recovered. Total cases increased by 122 to 6,776 since Aug. 10.
