With the stress of school now in full swing, make the most of your Labor Day weekend by attending one of the many events in the Conroe and Montgomery areas.

Here is a list of six things to do in the Lake Conroe area this Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30-Sept. 2:

Take the family camping
Aug 30.-Sept. 1

The Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council invites families to camp out for the long weekend at Camp Robinwood. Activities will include canoeing, swimming, archery, hiking and crafts. Families must register for activities when they arrive at the camp. $40 (registration). Camp Robinwood, 9877 Calvary Road, Willis. 936-856-2091.

Watch “The Karate Kid”
Aug. 31

Take the family out to see a classic movie at the Montgomery Community Building, where the city of Montgomery will be hosting a screening of “The Karate Kid.” The night is sponsored by Quality of Life Chiropractic. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Free. Montgomery Community Center, FM 149 & College St., Montgomery. 936-597-6434.

Get fit
Aug. 31

Camp Gladiator Conroe will host a free fitness class in the parking lot of Cryer Intermediate School. Participants must bring their own water and yoga mat. 8 a.m. Free. 2375 Montgomery Park Blvd., Conroe. 512-494-6966.

Go to an art gallery
Aug. 31-Sept. 2

Attend the first gallery of Lone Star Montgomery’s fall semester. The sculptural gallery is titled “Soft Space” and features work done by Zoe Gross. The gallery will be on display until Sept. 13. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free. Performing Arts Center, 3200 College Park Drive, Conroe. 936-273-7236.

Play golf with the family
Sept. 1

Woodforest Golf Club is hosting a family golf tournament. The tournament will have nine holes, and is limited to the first 40 families to sign up. Become a foster parent
Sept. 2

Go on a lunch cruise
Sept. 2
