A virtual public meeting and an in-person meeting will be held May 24 and 26, respectively, to present a Texas Department of Transportation FM 830 widening project, according to an April 19 post on TxDOT’s website. The public will be able to ask questions and leave written comments, which must be received on or before June 13 to be a part of the official meeting record.
The proposed FM 830 project would widen the road from two to four lanes from Old Montgomery Road to SH 75. It includes adding a 10-foot-wide shared-use path along the north side of the roadway corridor and 5-foot-wide sidewalks on the south side. The approximately 2.5-mile project would require the acquisition of 30 feet of new right-of-way along most of the project limits. No residential or nonresidential structures are expected to be displaced by the right-of-way acquisition.
The prerecorded online presentation will be available in English and Spanish at 5 p.m. May 24 at www.txdot.gov/inside-txdot/get-involved/about/hearings-meetings/houston/052422.html.
The in-person presentation will be May 26 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Robert B. Brabham Middle School, 10000 FM 830, Willis. The same presentation and materials delivered in the online public meeting will be available on a screen, and attendees can review hard copies of the project materials, ask TxDOT staff questions and leave written comments.
