City councils and school districts across Montgomery County are beginning to return to their weekly schedules in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. During this week's regularly scheduled meetings, city and county officials have a lot to catch up on.

Here is what Conroe and Montgomery residents should know about for the week of Sept. 11-15:

Montgomery County Commissioners Court meets Tuesday morning

Montgomery County Commissioners Court gathers on Sept. 12 to discuss agenda items including approval of the final plat of shops at the Woodforest community, the bid for a roadway and traffic signal intersection project to Hardin Store Road and Dobbin-Huffsmith Road. Montgomery City Council meets Tuesday evening

Montgomery City Council members meet Sept. 12 evening to consider approval of the city’s proposed 41.55 cent property tax rate for the 2017 tax year, scheduling for two public hearings discussing the city annexing 10.15 acres of land on Hwy. 105, and receiving an update on Buffalo Springs Drive bridge repair. Willis ISD Board of Trustees meet Wednesday evening

Willis ISD Board of Trustees meet Sept. 13 evening to discuss various agenda items, including updates to the school calendar to accommodate school days that were missed during Hurricane Harvey, and approval of additional personnel in classrooms. Conroe City Council meets on Wednesday and Thursday

Conroe City Council members meet at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 for the regular workshop and consent agenda meetings. Council members are scheduled to discuss agenda items including approval for a contract for the emergency generators rented during Hurricane Harvey for the damaged wastewater treatment plant, and consideration of a feasibility study for expanding the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center. Town hall meeting on Thursday to discuss Hwy 105 project

Two Houston law firms, McDonald Worley and Hill & Hill are teaming up to offer legal support to business and land owners affected by the Texas Department of Transportation’s plan to widen and improve Hwy. 105. Representatives from the law firms will be available to answer questions from property owners and offer legal support for residents affected by the TxDOT widening of thoroughfare.
