There is a lot going on this week, May 8-12, in Conroe and Montgomery, between two city council meetings and a county commissioners court meeting.
Here are a few things residents on Conroe and Montgomery should know before beginning the work week. 1. Conroe City Council meets May 10-11 for its workshop meeting and action agenda, respectively. During the meetings the council will discuss and consider several items including the appointment of new members to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, use of $25,000 from reserve Hotel Occupancy Tax funds for marketing of the World Finals of The Championship Bull Riding and an ordinance regulating liquefied petroleum gas within the city’s jurisdiction in according with the Texas Railroad Commissions safety rules. The council will meet at the City of Conroe City Hall, located at 300 West Davis Street, Conroe, at 2 p.m. May 10 for the workshop agenda and will reconvene for the action agenda at 6 p.m. May 11. Montgomery City Council meets May 9 to discuss and consider several items including a leave of absence for council member Jon Bickford, an application for the Texas Home Investment Partnership program and participation in the countywide Urban and Rural Transportation Implementation Strategy. Montgomery County Commissioners Court meets May 9 to discuss ad consider several items including a resolution and order regarding user fees for U.S. Customs at the Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport, setting a 25 mph speed limit on Brushwood and Overstreet Drive and awarding a bid for the Fish Creek Thoroughfare expansion project for Precinct 2.
