Here are a few things residents of Conroe and Montgomery should know this week, April 3-7, before jumping into the work week.
1. The Montgomery County TOMA violation trial continues this week.
The trial involving Montgomery County Judge Craig Doyal and two county commissioners began last week, recessed on Friday and resumed 9 a.m. Monday morning.
The case is being heard in Montgomery County’s 221st District Court and brings into question whether Doyal, Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley, Precinct 4 Commissioner Jim Clark and political consultant Marc Davenport violated the Texas Open Meetings Act while negotiating details of the November 2016 Montgomery County road bond.

2. Conroe City Council will hold a special meeting April 5.
The council will convene at 9 a.m. April 5 to discuss the Capital Improvement Program Budget for fiscal year 2016-17. To view the agenda visit

3. The Lake Conroe Summit 2017 took place March 31.
The inaugural event brought in local experts to discuss the future development and population growth Conroe, Montgomery and Willis can expect over the next 30 years.

4. Isaac Conroe Farmers Market takes place April 6.
This monthly event is held on the first Thursday of each month and features goods and products made by local vendors, food trucks and entertainment. The event will take place in Downtown Conroe from 4-8 p.m.
5. Morning with Mr. Bunny and egg hunt will be held this weekend.
This annual event includes an egg hunt with more than 15,000 eggs to find around Carl Barton Jr. Park, games and prizes. The event takes place from 10 a.m.-noon April 8 and is tailored for children ages 18 months old to 12 years old.
