The Conroe/Lake Conroe and Montgomery Area chambers of commerce are merging, according to a March 6 news release.
What’s happening
Each board of directors for the two chambers voted unanimously in February to merge, according to the news release. With the merger, the governing board of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce will be dissolved, and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce will leverage the former board for support.
The name of the merged chambers will be the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, according to the news release.

Members of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce will be recognized as chamber members of the newly merged chamber, according to the press release. After a full year of honoring their existing membership rate, the members will then transition to the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber’s membership rate in 2025.
- There are around 240 Montgomery Area Chamber members, with around 30% who are already members of both chambers.
The staff at the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce will join the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber’s staff, according to the news release.

Work is underway to partner with the city of Montgomery and Montgomery County to provide a welcome/visitor’s center in downtown Montgomery, said Scott Harper, president of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, via news release.
