The small animal and equine hospitals, Woodforest Animal Hospital and Lone Star Equine Sports Medicine, will celebrate one year in January under new ownership and a new name, Practice Manager Dalton Cox said. Dr. Francisco Alvarez purchased the clinics, which were previously known as the Woodforest Veterinary Medical Center and Equine Veterinary Associates, in January 2023.
Woodforest Animal Hospital provides veterinary care to dogs and cats, including basic surgeries, dental care, ultrasounds, X-rays and laser surgery technology, Cox said. In addition, the equine hospital cares for horses and also offers farm calls, he said.
The two campuses offer overnight hospitalizations for small animals and horses as well.
