Serenity Salt Spa opens new kind of therapy room in Montgomery

Serenity Salt Spa, located at 107 Old River Road, Ste. K, Montgomery, opened in March.

The spa includes a large salt cave, a private suite for two and two massage rooms. Owner Tina Kilburn said she is hosting a grand opening event May 3 to show the community how salt therapy works.

“What I'm seeing with people coming in, they see the giant salt cave and go, ‘Oh my gosh. This is amazing,’” she said. “It's something they've never seen before.”

Kilburn said salt therapy helps reduce inflammation and lessen mucus production to ease breathing for those suffering from asthma, allergies and chronic sinus congestion. The large salt cave includes six zero-gravity chairs, where guests will sit while a generator pumps in pure, pharmaceutical-grade salt for a 45-minute breathing and relaxation session.

“The health benefits for the respiratory system and skin, that's the most important thing about salt therapy,” Kilburn said. “So many people haven't heard about a Himalayan salt cave or room.”

The spa also includes botox, fillers, microneedling, dermabrasion and dermaplanning provided by JaLaine Aesthetic and Wellness. There are also stretching and injury prevention sessions.
