Trading his mobile cigar lounge business for a brick-and-mortar social club and lounge in Woodforest, Owner Jason Johnson anticipates opening Bespoke Cigar Lounge and Social Club in mid-April, he said in an interview.

The business will feature a retail shop with 10,000 hand-rolled cigars; prepackaged wine, beer and drinks available for purchase; and an 800-square-foot patio open to the general public to enjoy their cigars, Johnson said.

"Anybody's welcome to come in and select from our cigars. We have an 800-square-foot patio, so everyone is welcome to that," he said.

Indoors, the 2,600-square-foot cigar lounge is available to members only, he said. The exclusive lounge will feature six flatscreen TVs and live music. Johnson said the indoor lounge will also have clean air with new air brought in every few minutes.

"That's a yearly membership, and you'll be a member of our club," Johnson said. "This is an all-indoor environment that's climate controlled with 100% fresh air every 2.7 minutes."

Members can also enjoy gaming tables and private cigar lockers, as it is a members-only club. Nearby local eateries in Woodforest have also partnered to deliver food orders to the lounge, Johnson said.

Johnson said he has been in the cigar business for 20 years and claims launching the world's first mobile cigar lounge in 2015—a converted Airstream trailer, which served more than 100 weddings a year to take the fellowship of cigars to people.

Preparing to open Bespoke Cigar Lounge and Social Club has been a labor of love, Johnson said—giving up his job in health care, and selling his truck and investment properties. He also sold off the mobile cigar lounge last summer.

He and his wife reside in the Woodforest community, where Johnson said he rides his skateboard to work each day.

"We put every dollar into this thing. I mean, we're very seriously pursuing it, because we love our neighborhood; we love our community; we love Jesus," he said. "We really love to get people ... [to] just sit down and slow down, unplug, socialize. ... Cigars just have a way of doing that in a way that a bar doesn't."

Bespoke Cigar Lounge and Social Club will open at 870 New Day Ave., Ste. 100, Montgomery. 281-407-1650. www.bespokecigarlounge.com
