What we reported Shepard’s Barber Shop was established in 1912 and was named the oldest barber shop in Montgomery County by the Montgomery County Historical Commission. Customers come to the establishment to experience its classic shaving techniques.

The latest On May 8, the original owner and namesake of Shepard’s Barber Shop, Bobby Shepard, died. Current manager and longtime friend of Shepard, Leon Apostolo, remembers Shepard as a father-figure to him who was kind and patient. Apostolo said he feels like Shepard’s presence never left the shop, and that he is still there working alongside the barbers. In memory of Shepard’s long life and contribution to Conroe, the alley next to the barber shop was officially named Shepard’s Alley the day after his death.

What’s next Apostolo will continue to own and manage the shop, and he hopes to purchase the property from Shepard’s son in the future.
