The Texas Renaissance festival is returning for its 48th season for eight weekends this fall with a few new attractions, ticket deals and themed weekends.

Dates: Oct. 8-Nov. 27 (Sat.-Sun., Thanksgiving Friday)

Time: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. (gates close), 8 p.m. (festival closes)

Cost: $10-$25; $5 ticket insurance. Children age 12 and younger receive free admission on Sundays and half-price admission on Saturdays; tickets are date specific. Premium tickets that are not date-specific are $40.

Parking: general parking is free; $25 preferred parking; $50 valet


Directions: According to the website, the festival suggests attendees travel from the north. Attendees are encouraged to take Hwy. 105 to FM 1774 in Plantersville and approach the festival from the north by one of the two following routes:

1. Drivers can take I-45 to Hwy. 105 and head west from Conroe. Keep traveling until FM 1774 in Plantersville, and turn onto FM 1774 and continue south to the festival entrance.

2. Drivers have the option to take Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 6 to Navasota. Once in Navasota, drivers can take Hwy. 105 to FM 1774 in Plantersville and continue south to the festival entrance.

Camping

Pricing: $385 per night for RV rentals. Cabins range from $237.50-$302.50 per night. Tent rentals range from $170-$203 per night. RV pads range $75-$100 per night. There is a two-night minimum per lodging option.


Directions: The Fields of New Market camping ground is on the west side of the festival. Drivers can look for the sign marked Festival Campground and Ballroom, which is located at the corner of FM 1774 and CR 302. Once there, drivers can turn west onto CR 302 and travel roughly 1 mile. The campground entrance will be to the left.
