The city of Conroe is seeking an artist who can help contribute a painted or mosaic mural to Heritage Place Park as part of the city's downtown revitalization efforts, according to a news release from the Conroe Art League.

The Conroe 360 Class, a cohort of city of Conroe employees, is requesting bids for a local artist to lead the project. The park, located at 500 Collins Street, is a shared community space. The street facing the wall is about 110 feet long and 9 feet high, although not all the space has to be used.

The class has agreed to use a classmate's sketch of a train as a base design for the mural, with the interior of the letters representing themes of Texas.

Conroe Live has committed $1,500 to the project.

Interested artists should submit a complete materials list, timeline with completion date by Dec. 10, and expected compensation by Aug. 3 to [email protected].
