On Wednesday morning, local chamber of commerce members and Xscape Theatres officials gathered for the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the area’s newest movie theater. The theater, which is located off FM 1488 at 16051 Old Conroe Road, is Xscape Theatres’ Texas debut. The company plans to open a location in the Katy area later this year.
The theater has 12 movie screens, two of which are “Xtreme Screens,” electric reclining leather seats and a variety of concession items in the lobby. The theater will soon offer 14 beers on tap, bottled beers and wine options, said General Manager Craig Ford. Ford said the theater should obtain its wine and beer permit in mid-June.
