The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine has announced SHSU Physicians, a new medical clinic in Conroe, will begin seeing patients Nov. 12. The clinic is located at 690 S. Loop 336 W., Ste. 200, Conroe.
The clinic includes seven faculty physicians practicing family medicine, internal medicine, pulmonology and sleep medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine and three faculty nurse practitioners and one certified nurse midwife from the SHSU School of Nursing, according to an SHSU news release. Pediatricians and additional family and internal medicine physicians will be added in the near future.
SHSU Physicians also brings a new specialty to the community: osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine.
“We are eager to bring a new brand of health care to patients and families," said Dr. Craig Boudreaux, the medical director of SHSU Physicians and SHSU assistant professor of family medicine, in the news release. "At SHSU Physicians, we are committed to helping all patients find affordable, quality care with an emphasis on compassionate, prevention-minded, whole-body care while incorporating the latest evidence-based medicine. The clinic will also serve as fertile ground for student rotations, allowing them to observe and perform various aspects of clinical medicine at various points during their medical education.”
SHSU Physicians will accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. They are currently taking new patients, and appointments can be scheduled by calling 936-525-3600.
