The Conroe City Council will meet this week to discuss and possibly act upon several items including a first Thursday concert series agreement, a resolution concerning the relocation of Veterans Memorial Park and a settlement agreement relating to the acquisition of Wilson Road right of way. The council work session will take place Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and reconvene for the action agenda Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. To view the entire agenda, visit www.cityofconroe.org. First Thursday Concert Series agreement This annual concert series features local talent at the Heritage Place in Downtown Conroe and runs April through September. The agenda item is a routine agreement between the city of Conroe and the company which produces the concert series, said Parks and Recreation Director Mike Riggens. Relocation of Veterans Memorial Park Conroe City Council will consider a resolution to allow the relocation of Veterans Memorial Park, located in downtown Conroe, to an area with more parking for visitors, City Administrator Paul Virgadamo said. A new location for the park has not yet been identified. Wilson Road right of way acquisition Conroe City Council will discuss a settlement agreement and release relating to the acquisition of Wilson Road right-of-way from BL Cantrell Family Properties and related parties. The city will widen the road to four lanes with sidewalks between I-45 and Hwy. 75, and in doing so hopes to mitigate traffic congestion along the corridor, Virgadamo said. The design phase is roughly 90 percent complete.
