A new Harris County Constable Precinct 4 substation opened today to serve as a base of operations for patrols in the northern part of the precinct, Constable Mark Herman said.
The substation, located at 7817 West Rayford Road, Ste. B, Spring, will house 60 patrol officers on day, evening and night shifts. Officers report to supervisors and house their patrol cars at the facility.
“This is just another example of Precinct 4 constable’s offices being embedded in our communities,” Herman said. “[When we are] close to our communities, response times are cut down; we’re right there with them, living in the community.”
The building is the largest of the seven Precinct 4 substations, at about 60 feet by 60 feet, Herman said.
Precinct 4 headquarters are located on Cypresswood Drive and other substations are located at Meadowfern, Will Clayton Parkway, Louetta Road, Mueschke Road, and North Sam Houston Parkway.
The precinct has a 30-year lease for the new substation with Houston-based Flair Builders, which donated the building and charges a dollar per month rent to the county, Herman said.
