Walmart now open on Morton Ranch Road


A new Walmart Supercenter opened Wednesday at 22850 Morton Ranch Road, Katy. The store has a pharmacy, photo center and garden center in addition to its signature apparel, home goods, electronics and other products. 346-307-8163. www.walmart.com.

Tea house now open


Bambu Katy at 9555 Spring Green Blvd., Ste. E, Katy, sells boba tea and coffee drinks as well as Vietnamese che desserts, which are made with ingredients, such as sweet beans, puddings and fruits. The store also has a Comic Con theme, with comic book-inspired decor, board games and anime cartoons streamed on TVs.

Local coffee shop in transit to new location


As of May 23, Serene Beans is closed while the business moves to a new location at 1933 East Ave., across the street from Katy City Park. A grand reopening celebration is planned for June 10 with a crawfish broil, samples from Great Harvest Bread Company and live music from Sydney Bryant.
