First Cup Café Keith Hawkins, a co-owner of First Cup Café, has employees deliver lunch to teachers.[/caption] Open since July, First Cup Café in Fulshear has expanded its menu while also helping parents in Katy ISD show appreciation for their children’s teachers. “[Parents] can purchase anything on our full lunch menu and we’ll deliver it to [teachers],” owner Keith Hawkins said. Hawkins said First Cup started the delivery program about a month ago. Within about two weeks, had 50 orders. “Our first school was WoodCreek Junior High [School],” Hawkins said. Hawkins said Seven Lakes Junior High School and Randolph Elementary School also participate in the Teacher’s Lunch Box program. Hawkins learned of the program from a parent. The program originated in Georgia. Hawkins said he would like to see eight to 10 schools participate. Hawkins and his wife, Wanda, own First Cup with Jason and Missy LeBlanc. In addition to being a part of the Teacher’s Lunch Box program, First Cup expanded its menu, which now includes a breakfast quiche as well as a chicken pita pocket and a vegetarian quiche. The cafe also started buying local coffee from Fort Bend Coffee Roasters in Fulshear. “It’s been very, very successful,” Hawkins said. 11525 S.
