Developers are preparing to start construction on a new Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel project along northwest Beltway 8, just east of Fallbrook Drive. The hotel, which will be developed and managed by the Houston-based
New Horizons Hospitality, is expected to open Jan. 1, 2017.
“We are currently about 50 percent through the design phase,” New Horizons owner Aly Valiani said. “We should be starting construction by the end of this year or the beginning of next year.”
The four-story, all-suite hotel will feature 125 rooms, Valiani said. Rooms are designed for extended stay guests, and come equipped with full kitchens, dining areas and separate sleeping areas. Other services will include complimentary breakfasts every day of the week and complimentary dinners Mondays through Thursdays.
Based in North Houston, New Horizons oversees eight properties in the area, including four properties along Hwy. 290 and FM 1960 in Cy-Fair, Valiani said. He said the rapid development in northwest Houston makes it a prime location for a new hotel.
“We’ve been keeping abreast of development going in near our intersection, and three or four new office buildings are coming up,” Valiani said. “Business travelers drive about 60-70 percent of our business. We saw a lot of growth potential in the area.”
Valiani identified mobility as another major benefit to the location.
“We have good proximity to Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 249,” he said. “We’re located between the Energy Corridor and The Woodlands, and there’s a 15 minute drive to the airport. There’s a good mix of corporate demands and attractions for the leisure traveler.”
