Here are five road projects that are coming up or currently taking place in College Station. This list is not comprehensive and all information comes from city officials, as well as information published on the city's capital improvement project dashboard.
Upcoming projects
Rock Prairie Road widening
Project: This project widens Rock Prairie Road’s east corridor between Town Lake Drive and William D. Fitch Parkway from a two-lane asphalt road to a three-lane concrete roadway with separate bike lanes and sidewalks along each side.
Update: The project is in design and estimated to be completed in fall 2029.

- Cost: $26.6 million
- Funding source: city of College Station 2022 bond funds
Barron Road traffic signal
Project: A new traffic signal will be added at the intersection of Barron Road and Decatur Drive.
Update: The project is in design and estimated to be complete in winter 2026.
- Timeline: summer 2026-winter 2026
- Budget: $750,000
- Funding sources: certificates of obligation, College Station streets capital fund
Ongoing projects
Krenek Tap Road upgrades
Project: The city project rehabilitates Krenek Tap Road between Hwy. 6 and Texas Avenue.
Update: The project is under construction and adds new concrete pavement, new storm sewer and sanitary sewer infrastructure, and shared-use paths on both sides of the road.
- Timeline: Feb. 16, 2026-Feb. 16, 2027
- Cost: $10.99 million
- Funding sources: College Station Streets Capital Fund, Wastewater Capital Fund
Lincoln Avenue reconstruction
Project: The project reconstructs Lincoln Avenue between Texas Avenue and University Drive, including replacing the existing asphalt with concrete pavement, adding shared-use paths on both sides of the road, upgrading utilities, adding a designated right-turn lane at University Drive and installing roundabouts at the Munson Avenue and Nimitz Street intersections.
Update: The project is under construction and on track to be completed this spring.

Construction of Marion Pugh Drive
Project: The project constructs a new road from Holleman Drive to George Bush Drive.
Update: The project is under construction and is anticipated to be completed in December.
