Brightside Thrift, a new resale store in Historic Downtown Bryan, officially opened on June 3 with the mission of helping provide funds and care for the Acara Hospice Foundation.
What they offer
The store carries a large selection of donated items, including clothing, kitchenware and knick-knacks.
According to the store’s Facebook page, all of the money raised goes toward “an effort to raise funds to build and sustain a community hospice house in the Brazos Valley.”
The Acara Hospice Foundation serves the Bryan-College Station area, along with communities that stretch toward Houston. Founded in 2022, Acara’s founders have a combined 25 years of experience working in hospice and strive to personalize care while respecting patients and protecting their dignity.
Before you go
Brightside’s building can now be used as a beacon as it boasts a vibrant painting by local artist Beth Symons and other support, depicting the sun shining down on a valley with flowers and birds on different pillars. It is located next to the Top Shelf Bar & Grill and the Twin City Mission Community Closet.
The store is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and stays open late during First Friday events.
