The city of Houston will soon begin construction on a new wastewater line and facilities project in the Braeswood Place neighborhood.

The Westridge Regional Lift Station project will span the area between Braeswood Boulevard to Loop 610 South and from Buffalo Speedway to Kirby Drive.

The project will be broken in eight phases, the first of which involves the installation of a wastewater diversion line through Westridge Street. Construction is expected to take place between fall 2022 and spring 2023.

Phase 2 involves the construction of a new water lift station on Westridge Street, which is used to pump sewage and wastewater up to allow a natural downward flow in areas of lower elevation and is expected to be completed by summer 2023. The construction on gravity sewer line installations along Buffalo Speedway, Murworth Drive, Main Street and Westridge Street is expected to begin in the first half of 2023 and be completed in early 2024.

Part of the project includes the demolition of three existing lift stations in the area.

The $36 million project is estimated to be completed in summer 2024.
