The northbound and southbound main lanes of I-69 at West Loop 610 will be closed at separate times this weekend, Sept. 18-19, the Texas Department of Transportation announced Sept. 16.

On Saturday, Sept. 18, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., crews will close the I-69 Southwest Freeway northbound main lanes at West Loop 610. On Sunday, Sept. 19 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., crews will then close the I-69 Southwest Freeway southbound main lanes at West Loop 610.

Meanwhile, crews will continue construction on the new I-69 northbound connector ramp to West Loop 610 northbound, which spans over the main lanes of I-69 Southwest Freeway and is expected to open later this year.

Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route. Police will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

The closure comes as crews continue to work on the $259 million I-69/Loop 610 interchange project, which seeks to significantly enhance safety and improve mobility by widening the connector ramps to two lanes, increasing sight distances, and providing remedies to eliminate weaving.
