Bellaire street improvements

Drainage and pavement improvements are scheduled to begin on several Bellaire Bonds for Better Bellaire program, approved by voters in 2016. Larch Lane, Mimosa Drive, and Chelsea, Cynthia and Cedar streets will receive reinforced concrete curbs, roadways and gutters, 100-year underground drainage and water-detention pipes, replacement of driveways and walkways within the street right of way and 5-foot-wide sidewalks. The construction will also include measures to protect trees in the vicinity of the roadwork. Timeline: October 2019-October 2020 Cost: $7.6 million Funding source: city of Bellaire

Phase 2 of Woodshire area improvements

The city of Houston is almost done with the design of additional stormwater drainage, utility upgrades and pavement improvements to streets in the Woodshire area. The design of the second phase is 90% complete, according to the city of Houston. The project will include improvements to streets between Basson Drive and Fordshire Drive as well as a portion on Linkwood Drive. The first phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer. Timeline: summer 2020-TBD Cost: $12.2 million Funding source: city of Houston
