The Texas Department of Transportation will once again close all southbound main lanes of I-69 from Weslayan Street to Chimney Rock Road as construction continues on a new connector ramp. The closure begins at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 with lanes reopening by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12. The work is part of the yearslong I-69/610 Loop interchange project, a $259 million redesign of some of the most highly congested highways in the state. TxDOT is advising drivers to consider alternate routes and expect delays. Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control, according to TxDOT. Additional road closure information is available at Houston Transtar.
