Construction is underway on Houston's first bus rapid-transit line, slated to begin service in March 2020.

The Texas Department of Transportation will completely shut down a portion of the I-610 West Loop every night this week as work on the Uptown elevated bus lane project continues.

I-610 will be closed from Woodway Drive to Post Oak Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Saturday, Sept. 14. The I-10 to I-610 south connectors will also be closed overnight.

Traffic will exit at the Post Oak exit ramp and will be able to re-enter the freeway at the Post Oak southbound entrance ramp.

Crews are working on the bridge decking that runs over the Loop southbound mainlanes, according to a TxDOT news release.

Harris County coronavirus count: Percentage of COVID-19 positive ICU patients falls below 30%

The percentage has been slowly falling since reaching a high point above 50% in early July, according to data from the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council. Public health officials in Harris County have said they want to see that number below 15%.
