The Texas Department of Transportation will shut down a section of I-610 every night this week to work on a bridge for the elevated bus lanes project.

All I-610 southbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Aug. 19 to Aug. 23. The closure includes the I-10 ramps onto the south Loop.

Southbound traffic will be routed to exit at Post Oak and re-enter the freeway at the Post Oak southbound entrance ramp.

The bus lane project, along with the Uptown Management District's Boulevard Project, will support the city's first bus rapid-transit line.

Additional road closure information is available at Houston Transtar.
