Total home sales were relatively flat in three of five local ZIP codes covering the Bellaire, Meyerland and West University areas when comparing data from June 2024 with June 2023.

The two ZIP codes that saw the most sales in June 2023—77005 and 77096, covering the University and Meyerland areas, respectively—saw the biggest percentage drops when comparing data with June of this year. The 18 homes sold in 77005 in June also represented a drop when compared to the 29 homes that sold in May and the 37 homes that sold in April in that ZIP code.

The median prices of homes sold was up in three of five local ZIP codes when comparing June 2024 data with June 2023. Two of the ZIP codes that saw increases—77025 and 77096—typically have more affordable homes in the local area.

The more expensive ZIP codes—77005 and 77401—both saw moderate decreases in median price when comparing the two months. The 77030 ZIP code saw a large increase in median price. However, fewer overall homes are sold in that ZIP code, causing prices to be more volatile.
The average days a home spends on the market before selling varied across the five local ZIP codes, dropping to 23 days in 77401, which covers the city of Bellaire.
Just under half of the homes that sold in the local area in June sold for more than $1 million. After that, roughly equal numbers of the remaining homes sold within the $250,000-$499,999, $500,000-$749,999 and $750,000-$999,999 price ranges.
