Total home sales were down in four of five local ZIP codes, with the 77030 ZIP code being the exception. That ZIP code, which covers the Texas Medical Center area, typically has the fewest homes sold of the five.

Total home sales were lower in three of five local ZIP codes when comparing November data with the previous year. From November 2023 to December 2023, home sales trends in each ZIP code were relatively flat.
Median prices were up in four of five local ZIP codes when comparing December 2023 with December 2022, falling in the 77401 ZIP code, which covers the city of Bellaire. December was the second month in a row when 2023 median prices were broadly higher than they were at the same time in 2022.
The average number of days a home spent on the market before selling saw the biggest increase in the 77025 ZIP code, where homes also have lower median prices compared to the other ZIP codes. The 77401 ZIP code saw a drop in average days on market when comparing December 2023 with December 2022.
A little over one-third of homes sold in the five ZIP codes sold for more than $1 million in December, while around 30% sold for less than $500,000.
