With home sales in the Greater Houston area decreasing for the 19th consecutive month in October, two local ZIP codes covering the cities of Bellaire and West University Place—77005 and 77401—saw higher sales when comparing October 2023 data with October 2022. However, three other local ZIP codes saw home sale decreases when looking at October data, and the Bellaire and West U ZIP codes also saw home sales decrease when comparing September data.

The median price of homes sold was significantly higher in the 77005 and 77030 ZIP codes for homes sold in October compared to the 77025 and 77096 ZIP codes. Of the 15 homes sold in the 77401 ZIP code in October, the median price was roughly $870,000. The median price was more than $1 million in that ZIP code for several consecutive months, and also topped $1 million for the June 2022-May 2023 period.
On top of seeing home sale increases, the 77005 and 77401 ZIP codes also saw the average number of days a home spends on the market before selling fall when comparing October 2023 with October 2022. The 77030 ZIP code saw a large increase in average days on market. Monthly data from that ZIP code is more volatile because of the small number of total home sales.
