Bellaire City Council on Sept. 12 approved plans for the addition of a sidewalk connecting Paseo Park’s southern end.
Previously presented with two options during an Aug. 1 meeting, council settled on the “short side,” an attaching line of sidewalk between the park’s southwest corner and the sidewalk along the streetcar, which would cost an estimated $15,000-$25,000.
“This project, if given the opportunity to proceed, could be completed within a week” Assistant Director of Public Works Corey Woods said.
No date was set for when construction would begin; however, direction was given by Mayor Andrew Friedberg to begin “expeditiously.”
