Leaf & Grain, the Houston-based healthy restaurant company, will soon bring its offerings outside downtown for the first time.

The restaurant is targeting an early summer opening date for its third location, planned on 2,500 square feet of space with an available patio area at 5525 Weslayan St., Houston. The new restaurant will join Leaf & Grain's locations at One Allen Center and Shops at Houston Center.

“We’ve been looking to get out of downtown for a while now,” President David Hoffman said. “We really doubled down on that.”

Leaf & Grain opened its first location in 2017. It offers warm bowls and large party salads.

In addition to its core offerings, the new restaurant on Weslayan will have some extras, including breakfast, coffee, smoothies, beer and wine, Hoffman said.

Visibility and access were key to Leaf & Grain’s choice of the Weslayan location.

“It has access to a ton of different neighborhoods,” Hoffman said. “It’s kind of an intersection between West U and Bellaire, but also has easy access from Afton Oaks and the River Oaks area.” www.eatlg.com
