A&O Lamp Company, a family-run lamp, chandelier, fan, and furniture company with a decades-long presence around the West University Place business community, at 3936 Bellaire Blvd., has permanently closed. The lamp reseller closed its doors in January after holding inventory viewings on Jan. 9 and 10, with an auction on Jan. 11, according to a flyer distributed online by auctioneer Webster’s Auction Palace. The store’s closure came as the owner looked to retire, according to the flyer. Over 3,000 items worth over $600,000 were sold during the auction — the store’s entire remaining inventory — according to a representative from Webster’s Auction Palace.www.aolampco.com
