The City of West University Place officially reopened Whitt Johnson Park, 6540 Wakeforest Ave., West University, on Nov. 17. The half-acre park received a $150,000 renovation funded by the Friends of West University Parks. The park now has an accessible tree house, artificial turf, updated benches and tables, resurfaced courts, and new playground equipment. www.westuparks.org
