SimonMed Imaging, one of the largest outpatient medical imaging providers in the United States, opened a new simonONE center in Houston.

The center provides whole-body, preventative MRI scans aimed at detecting certain diseases and cancers. According to a news release April 22, the Houston center also features the market's first outpatient AI-enhanced, wide-bore 3T MRI.

According to the National Cancer Institute, a 3T MRI is used to make images of the brain, the spine, the soft tissue of joints, and the inside of bones and blood vessels through the use of a strong magnet.

“Houston has long been at the forefront of clinical care and health care innovation, so we are thrilled to bring simonONE to the market,” SimonMed founder Dr. John Simon said. “With simonONE, many patients have gained unprecedented views into their bodies, which can often be life-changing."
