Harris County Public Health will be hosting a free mobile health services initiative called Wellness on Wheels, which aims to increase access to services among communities officials deem a priority.

What residents should know

Details for the first event were announced by HCPH in a news release.Attendees will have access to the following free services:
  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings
  • Vaccinations
  • Dental screenings, including fluoride applications for children
  • HIV and sexually transmitted infection testing
  • Lead poisoning testing
  • Health service referrals
Pet owners will also be able to utilize the following services:
  • Vaccinations
  • Microchipping with a two-pet limit per household
  • Low-cost adoptions
Future dates in other precincts were also announced.
  • Harris County Precinct 1: June 8
  • Harris County Precinct 3: Aug. 3
  • Harris County Precinct 4: Dec. 7

HCPH will be working with two organizations to complete the program this year.
  • The Common Market: a Houston nonprofit that distributes family-owned farm products to organizations across the region, according to its website
  • The Rose: a Texas-based nonprofit focused on breast health care
