The city of West University Place will still require residents to wear face coverings when entering its facilities—even after March 10.
That date marks when Texans will no longer be required by state law to wear a mask and when all businesses will be allowed to operate at full capacity, instituted by an executive order Gov. Greg Abbott made March 2.
“The City of West University Place will continue to require face coverings to enter City facilities in accordance with guidance from local health authorities and the CDC to ensure the upmost precautions remain in place to protect the health and safety of residents,” the city announced March 8. “Even though the Governor has lifted the restrictions imposed by the State doesn’t mean COVID-19 is behind us.”
