Bellaire and West University Place are returning services back to how they were before Hurricane Laura’s near miss of the Greater Houston area late Aug. 26 and early Aug. 27, according to announcements from both cities.

Here is a list of the city services that will return to normal operations beginning Aug. 28, though a full list can be found here for Bellaire and here for West University Place.

All nonessential city services will remain closed Aug. 27 as staff recovers from the disaster response protocols that were activated Aug. 26 and overnight in preparation for the storm.

Regular operations of all city services will resume Aug. 28.

Bellaire


Solid waste and recycling collection will resume Aug. 28, along with the reopening of the City Hall customer service lobby.

Bellaire pool operations will also resume Aug. 28, in addition to Camp Paseo, Bellaire City Library curbside pickup, and the police and municipal court customer service windows.

West University Place

All facilities—minus the police department lobby—remain closed though Aug. 27.


The city will not collect trash, recycling or yard waste Aug. 27. Trash collection will return Aug. 31 and recycling/yard waste July 3.
