The City Market

This two-day shopping experience featuring boutique gifts, accessories, original art, gourmet food, clothing and jewelry will take place at downtown retail and entertainment space POST Houston. Presented by the Houston Junior Forum—a women-organized nonprofit—the market presents an opportunity to buy gifts for Easter, Mother’s Day and graduations.

Collab Kid U

Rice University will host this science, technology, engineering, arts and math event for children. It will feature activities such as coding, robotics, performing and visual arts, and exhibits on climate solutions, life sciences and renewable energy.

The 38th annual weekend of events is presented by The Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts. The main event—an art car parade will start on Allen Parkway at the I-45 overpass and circle around City Hall in downtown Houston—and feature more than 250 mobile masterpieces, food trucks and an after party at Market Square Park.Creative Studio at The Health Museum

This art workshop at The Health Museum provides a structured yet creative space for attendees to gain scientific insight into psychological themes while promoting overall well-being. The late April and early May event will use paint, design and collage to address balance and trauma, respectively.

Dancin’ In The Street Motown tribute

This music event at Hermann Park’s Outdoor Miller Theatre will celebrate soul, funk and R&B legends such as Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye, Frankie Beverly and The Temptations. Free tickets for the theater’s covered area will become available at 10 a.m. on May 21.
