Between April and July each year, the number of young people actively searching for jobs spikes significantly, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In 2022, according to the bureau’s data, the youth labor force grew by 2.6 million from April to 22.9 million in July. During these months, large numbers of high school and college students search for or take summer jobs.
From April through June this year, the city of Houston’s Hire Houston Youth program will host its job fair throughout the Greater Houston area. The job openings at the events vary by industry and are geared for youth ages 16-24, according to the news release.
“We greatly appreciate Dave Moss and the Greater Houston McDonald’s owners for partnering with us to provide employment opportunities for young people in various sectors of the Houston community since 2016,” Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said in a news release.
