The city of Bellaire will hold a memorial ceremony on the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack.

In 2017 the city was donated a piece of the former World Trade Center, an 11 foot I-beam, which was installed between the Bellaire Fire Department and city library.

"That location was identified as most conducive to creating a quiet, contemplative space, and as likely necessary to accommodate the more ambitious scale originally envisioned," Bellaire Mayor Andrew Friedberg said in a Sept. 2 blog post.

The dedication will be held at 2 p.m. at 5101 Jessamine St., Bellaire.
