Precinct 4 Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones said the center will help open doors for those in the Gulfton and Sharpstown area.

"We know how talented our students are, but it's often these barriers—filling out a FAFSA, fixing your resume—that are the challenge," she said. "So having these resources in the heart of Gulfton makes me so happy."

All services at GRADcafé are free and open to all Harris County residents.
