La Cabra, a new soccer-focused sports bar combining high-energy sports, atmosphere and a rotating food vendor list opened on Bellaire Boulevard in Sharpstown Center.

A grand opening celebration took place May 16-17, according to a May news release.

Meet the owner

Founded by the Houston-native and former MasterChef contestant whose background includes environmental engineering, Joseph Manglicmot, said in a news release that La Cabra is a concept he dreamed about for a long time.

"It is my dream man cave turned into a bar, and we are proud to bring this concept to Sharpstown," he said. "We hope it becomes a gathering spot for the community to relax, celebrate, connect and relate to the love of soccer and sports."

What's on the menu

While the sports bar will originally open Thursday-Sunday, there are future plans to open daily, according to the May news release. The future food menu will be curated by Manglicmot in collaboration with Chef Lung Ly from the Montrose restaurant and bar, 93' Til.

Until the food menu launches, three rotating food vendors will have residency at the bar, including Lafitte's Seafood, Ceviche El Guero and Pascual's Tacos.
